Transferring to USF

USF’s generous transfer policy offers several paths to transferring previously earned credits. Additionally, we offer an easy and supportive transfer application process.

Transfer Credit Overview & Guidelines

For Current Students

If you are looking to take a course at another college or university, you must first complete and submit (to the Registrar’s Office) a Transfer Course Verification Form.

For Students Transferring into USF

If you completed coursework at an accredited institution, USF will evaluate and post the credits to your USF transcript provided you earned a grade of “C” or better. Accepted credit hours are not included in the computation of your USF GPA.

Note the following exceptions:

  • Allied Health, Nursing and Science majors have a five-year limit on transferring science and pharmacology courses.
  • Computer Information Systems courses taken more than five years prior to enrollment at USF are not transferable.

If you earned credit from any of the following colleges or universities, see their Guidelines for information on commonly transferred courses:

For questions or assistance on credit transfer, currently enrolled or readmitted USF students should contact Amanda Macias at or 260-399-7700 ext. 6526. Applicants and non-enrolled students, please contact Admissions at or 260-399-8000.
